Hello, Peasant B here,
I'll tell you what, making a whole entire website and being responsible for every detail is rough, but it will be rewarding once it's where I like it. We aren't quite there yet, hopefully soon I will have a fully finished site 'till I feel like changing things up. Until then I will try to post when I'm not fidgeting with the site or appeasing the Overlords.
This past weekend, June 7th & 8th The Masters and Overlords allowed us some free time since I have been taking plenty of pictures of them and we had appeased them for the week.
On Saturday the 7th, we took a trip to Nashville to visit the Opry Mills Mall. It was a nice mall for sure and there was no shortage of options for food. There were your typical mall stores like Spencer's, Aero, Journey's, VS and Pink, and a collection of shoe stores but there were also a lot of area specific stores, like touristy stores. I mean I get it, it's legit next to the Grand Ole Opry, tourist attraction central right there. So, the tourist stores didn't catch me by complete surprise, I'm originally from FL, so I've been to a few 'tourist' malls and none of them were like THAT. The fact this mall didn't have typical department stores was wild as well. I'm used to always expecting Macy's, Dillard's and JCPenney, but none were present here. The 'department' stores of this mall were a giant Bass Pro, Gap, Old Navy, TJ Maxx and a collection of BOOT Barns. Still, it was the full blow restaurants and attractions INSIDE of the mall that caught me off guard. There was an Aquarium restaurant that was basically an extension of the Nashville Aquarium, there was a Rainforest Cafe, a steakhouse, Cheesecake Factory and more. Also, on top of there being all those restaurants, there's an expansive food court as well. We did visit and eat at the Aquarium restaurant, and I recommend it for sure. It is a little bit pricy, but the portions are worth the price. Across from the Aquarium restaurant was a wax museum that had Harry Styles and Jimi Hendrix at the entrance and Kid Rock in the gift shop that looked so life like I thought they were going to say something if we got too close. There is a carousel in the food court, a Dave and Busters, an escape room, and more for entertainment. Safe to say that pretty much anyone has an option in this mall no matter what you're shopping for or wanting to eat. OH, AND, there are bathrooms every 5-10 stores or so, so you don't have to run to find the food court or a department store for a guaranteed bathroom.
On Sunday the 8th, we went to a Renn Faire in Eminence, KY. It was my first time going to one, I just wish it hadn't been a last-minute decision so I could have experienced more. It's okay though, we will be going again for Father's Day and Viking Week. This week was Pirate week, and I was actually able to pull an outfit together. I had an outfit I had purchased a few months back but haven't had a chance to wear it and it fit the pirate aesthetic perfectly. Even with it being Pirate week there was a wide variety of characters that people were dressed up as. There were witches and wizards, fairies, knights, elves, even someone dressed as a bubble bath adorned with a rubber duck on bubbles on their head and much more. The variety of shops was just as astounding. There were apothecaries, blacksmiths, glass blowers, leatherworks, jewelers, and plenty of food stalls along with a pub and a tavern to finish off the feel I ended up purchasing a witch hat in a style I've been thinking of purchasing for a while. Honestly, the prices of the items weren't too horrible seeing as most of them were handmade. It was all so much to take in and I am excited and can't wait for Father's Day to explore some more. I will for sure update with the second visit and the full day experience of the Renn Faire.
Until next time,
Peasant B. :)
